Jay-Z, Coldplay to Headline NYE Show in Vegas

Jay-Z and Coldplay have been booked for what is most likely going to be the biggest show in Las Vegas on NYE this year. The invite-only concert is set to take place at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, which opens on December 15th, and will feature individual sets from both artists as well as a joint performance.

Spike Lee to Direct The Roots and John Legend Live

Spike Lee is going to direct the live stream of John Legend and The Roots' Madison Square Garden performance on 9/23. The show lands two days after the release of The Roots and Legend's collaborative effort, "Wake Up" and will be streaming live on YouTube through Vevo.

Pastor Worth Making the Trip For

I recently found myself in in downtown Los Angeles with about 3 hours to kill so I decided to drive around and look for some good Mexican food. After about ten minutes into my drive I stumbled across Mercado La Paloma, a swap meet with a huge mural outside that screams "good eatin." I walked inside, checked out all the food stands and in the back was a huge piece of pork rotating on a spit with chunks of pineapple, something I had only seen in Costa Rica and Mexico, so I didn't hesitate to order a plate of pastor and an horchata. This was the best pastor I had ever tasted; tender but pleasantly chewy, flavorful but not overpowering, not at all greasy or heavy. If you're ever in the area or even if you just crave good Mexican, this is a must for any Angeleno.
